Lucia Ronchetti: Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi's exhibition: "Straordinarie" at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milano

The spaces of the Fabbrica del Vapore will host "Straordinarie", the project promoted by Terre des Hommes and curated by Renata Ferri with photographs by Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi, which brings together 110 portraits and voices of Italian women from multiple spheres of contemporary society. Professionals whose paths testify to many different ways, all possible, of asserting themselves and realising their ambitions beyond prejudice and discrimination.

During the days of the exhibition, the spaces of the Cathedral will host a rich programme of meetings dedicated to schools and citizenship, encounters with the women portrayed, projections and artistic performances, to explore the themes proposed by the exhibition.

As Renata Ferri states, "Straordinarie is a challenge to gender stereotypes that transforms the paradigm of the woman-victim into a cultural and political reference model. Protagonists of our present, they have accepted the invitation to stage the photographic portrait to make this project a unique body of faces and voices, a weaving of memories, confidences and dedications."

The exhibition, realised thanks to the support of Deloitte with the patronage of the Deloitte Foundation, is part of the #indefesa campaign that Terre des Hommes has been carrying out since 2012 to promote the rights of girls and young women in Italy and around the world, through concrete projects in the field, but also awareness-raising initiatives such as Straordinarie, and advocacy campaigns to build a culture of respect and inclusion against all prejudice and gender discrimination.
