PRESENTATION
The work brings together thee different characters from the Cavalli’s Giasone: Hypsipyle, desperately searching for Giasone who has abandoned her and Oreste, seeking informations about Giasone in order to help Hypsipyle, while he is longing for her. The three characters are involved in a reciprocal play of misunderstandings, doubtful searchs and waits, they struggle, trying to make themselves free from the bonds connecting them.
They are also trapped in the voice of the soloist Valer Barna Sabadus, his voice is extended by the representation of the three wide registers and dramatic attitudes. The voice of the singer is a sort of inner scene where the anxieties of the three characters are more and more concrete and without solution. Hypsipyle, the abandoned wife of Giasone is expressing her dueling between hopes and renounce, and press Giasone to contradictory acts until the tragic end. In dream she speaks to Oreste, capturing the feeling of the only moderate and reflexive character of the plot.
