Kali Malone’s new ensemble work Trinity Form will be realized and composed specifically for San Pietro di Castello. The composition will consist of the church’s pipe organ played by organist Kali Malone along with her collaborators Lucy Railton on cello and Stephen O’Malley on bowed acoustic guitar. The piece will utilize the unique keyboard sensitivity of the San Pietro di Castello’s pipe organ to slowly alter the air pressure of the organ. In combination with the cello and acoustic guitar, the ensemble will create textural harmonic timbral swells in canonic structure, creating a site-specific spiritual meditation on musical harmony, polyphonic form, and spatial acoustics.
